Here's a video John shot today while I practiced self-launching and fought with the waves a bit, but hey! Gotta learn somehow, eh?
![]() http://www.youtube.co... Thanks John and Scott for all the tips and for helpin' us newbies get better. I really appreciate it! |

Debra... we wish you could have been there too! ... Louai... you wiped out beautifully ... "just to show us what NOT to do, REMEMBER???"

Louai would have done just fine first try if he wasn't fishing gear that got swept off his deck. Surf is very good at showing you what you need to secure better :)

how about a repeat this weekend, Saturday or Sunday anyone?

Been talking with John Joe and Gennifer about this weekend. We're leaning toward Palos Verdes on Sunday. While a surf launch it should be less than one foot. We land at Smuggler's Cove where there's some very nice tide pools. Nice kelp beds along the way. Distance would be similar to last Sunday's Laguna paddle at around 12 miles total.
Some pics: http://picasaweb.goog... Saturday I may do a mid-Laguna area paddle. Sound good? I or John Joe will post by tomorrow. Edited by John Clinton on Oct 27, 2009 6:57 PM |
