Hey Gang here is a rough itinerary and some general information regarding the up coming Morro Bay trip.

If you have questions feel free to send me an E-mail (kevinbhornby@hotmail.com) with your phone # so I can call you back.

Friday=
Get there, check in (3:00 official), it is not a for sure but if you are coming in Friday most likely your spot will be empty on or before noon (check out time), set up camp for the first evening. If we decide to paddle this day we can and I am sure rentals will be available if you make arrangements ahead. I would guess a start time of 2:00 pm.
Potluck Dinner, fire, etc.

Saturday=
Yoga 7 AM (45 minutes) Please no screaming as I ,I mean other campers will be sleeping.
Breakfast, clean up, pack lunch for the day on the water, do my hair.
Migrate to the bay with equipment for a paddle of the bay, (TBD by weather, groups ability, tide surf wind, etc. lots of options) but stopping out on the sand spit for lunch, a play on the dunes, great views etc. (On the water start time 10:00 am.)
Coming back in the afternoon. Back to camp to get showered, cleaned up.
I would like to host a late afternoon Margarita, wine, snacks, games, pin the tail on the camper, party etc.
Potluck Dinner, fire, etc.

Sunday=
Yoga 7 AM (45 minutes)
Breakfast, clean up, breaking down camp. Check out is Noon so you should be out of your camp before the paddle or arrange for a late check out.
Migrate to the bay for a paddle (On the water start time 9:30 am.)followed by lunch at the BAYSIDE DINER where we launch and take out.
Pack up boats etc and get on the road home.

If anyone wants to do more advanced paddles it will be with boat owners only so you can go when you want.

Also if we can start finding some volunteers to bring fire wood that would be great. Just send an E-mail or post it on the event.

I will be working on a list of things to bring regarding the paddles soon.

If anyone has any questions regarding camping gear or campground feel free to E-mail me and if possible leave me your phone #. I have been to this campground many times and know the amenities/surrounding area pretty well.

Do keep in mind this is about a 4 to 4 1/2 hour drive depending on where you are in Orange county. If your going on Friday afternoon please don't wake me when you arrive Friday evening. :)

If you have a site and are planning on sharing please do as people will need the space. I do not believe there are anymore sites in the area we are in.
If your sharing. 8 people max to a campsite/ 2 TENTS MAXIMUM / 2 cars maximum (1 car included in site charges, 2nd car will be charged a day parking fee, make sure if you have more than 2 cars that they have guest parking available off sites. If they do they will be charged a day parking fee.

More to follow at a later date.

Thanks
Kevin

Morro Bay State still does not know if they will be open or closed but there seems to be an excellent chance all the state parks will remain open at least for the foreseeable future. I'm told this is due to many federally mandated programs (endangered species, etc) that have to be maintained and monitored which state park personnel play a large role in. So it looks like for now, Morro Bay is a go.

Be sure and bring clothing suitable for all type's of weather.
As far as kayaking clothing if you are not familiar with what to wear I would suggest this.
NO COTTON.
Rain gear worn over fleece in case it gets windy/cold/spray.
Wetsuits can be worn but I would suggest lower body only or you may be uncomfortable.
Remember if you wear your camping clothing paddling it will be wet. Multiple sets of clothing would be a good idea.
If you have questions feel free to E-mail.

Oh I love to float
In my itty bitty boat
...So happy in the water
When I see a little otter!

And my dearest wish
Is to find a jelly fish
…I give a little squeal
When I spot a harbor seal!

Yeah, I’m really quite a nerd
Takin’ pictures of the birds
... I know I’ve got it bad
Lovin’ Yoga in the Sand

Oh, the main thing that I crave
Is a’ launchin’ thru the waves
...I’m just a grinnin’ quack
Out a playin’ in my Yak!

The Happy Yak’ers Tune (... still under construction)
By Lenora, with help from Debra
Inspired by Morro Bay & Pismo Beach, 10-11-09

PS: This started on this morning's paddle, when Debra and I went out for some sunrise Yoga on the Dunes... We were feelin' pretty happy and cheery... the folks at camp just didn't seem to appreciate this as much as we did when we shared our first (shorter) version with them. :(
This kept me busy, drivin' back from Pismo Beach... I had to add some stuff about yoga, jelly fish, and beach launching... so... here is tonite's version... typed out so I won't forget it over nite. WARNING: My kids loved the rendition I gave them when I got home, and are on a mission to help me create more verses and get it on you tube, Ha Ha!!

Nite y'all crazy yakers!!
